From what I've seen, cost varies on a couple of factors: what kind of material is used for the wig (human hair or synthetic), the actual style of the wig, and of course, where you buy it. You can get a real good quality wig for as low as $50 to as high as $300. Shop around to get the best bargain, though I would say getting a good quality wig should be looked at as an investment that lasts for some time.
Check out ULTA, CVS and Rite Aid - I know they have clip on pieces. (color variety is limited) I've bought clip on pieces and ones you can put around a partial or full ponytail (depending on the length of your hair). HSN offers a variety of hair pieces at various prices also.
You can also check out Sally Beauty Supply or your local mall.
I have always wanted to try a wiglet but I am afraid I would be walking around looking like I should be saying trick or treat. I am guessing that you get them at a specialty beauty store, can anyone give me some tips on finding something classy without having to take out a loan.
I have considered this, but have never got around to doing it. One of the things holding me back is eczema, since the area that it occurs in is in the back of my head I am afraid that a wig will aggravate it. I found that when I cut my hair short I stopped haveing so many problems with it.
I have friends who wear wigs and you can't tell it is not their real hair. My daughter uses hair pieces sometimes, they are really nice when she has pictures to take or maybe a dance to go to, it just gives that extra pop that she wants and it is so much easier than spending over an hour to get her hair just so since the hair piece only takes minutes to do.
I think they are a great option. When I was little my mom had one. They called it a wiglet because it was just a piece. She has really thin and fine hair and it gave her the look of fuller hair. I'd love to have one and able to change my hair color in the middle of the week lol.
Wigs and detachable hair pieces are getting very popular - I see places popping up all over that offer a variety of different lengths, styles, colors and textures at very affordable prices, and the nice part about it is - if you don't like it, it isn't permanent!
I say go for it. My former Mother in law had to wear wigs due to hair loss. She finally got a really cute style and she looks so much younger.
Just yesterday I was telling a friend how years ago I had a beautiful "fall" that I would wear when I went out and sometimes to work. It was great especially when I was having a "bad hair day." If I ever find one like that again, I would definitely buy it. I just have to figure what hair color I'm going to stick with first I'm so indecisive!
What do you all think of wigs and hair pieces? They aren't just to cover a balding problem, they can be a true beauty statement! Add or shorten length, color and style in an instant. I never really considered wigs before, but I saw some wig websites and wow! They look so natural and it would be so much easier to change my look as opposed to dying my hair with harsh chemicals. What do you think?
