Back to school for the kids certainly means I change clothes and such, as it is also back to school for me! I actually started the day before they did this year.
I do start to clean out the clothes from summer that were not worn and get the fall stuff out and ready to go. I do dress nicer in the fall with it being cooler. I love to fix my hair and make-up and enjoy the time outside and away from the house.
Wow great question! Speaking for myself, I think I do change my own appearance when school starts for my kids. During the summer I go out less, so I wear alot of casual clothes and my makeup tends to be light because I'm not running into anybody. Once school starts, and I am taking the kids to school, attending teacher conferences, PTA meetings and whatnot, I kick it up a notch and wear nicer clothes and make a bigger effort makeup wise. Anyone else do this?
I hadn't really thought about this... but now that y'all point it out, there's some truth to it. New Year's shouldn't be the only time to make changes!
I'll definitely have to give some thought to what changes I can make to welcome the cooler weather!
Dreamer, I hadn't thought about that. Back to School certainly can be a time for everyone to have a fresh start or at least a chance to change up some things and look different for the "new year." I think I'll keep an eye out and see if anyone in my neighborhood is doing it!
Yes i honestly believe that as back to school starts another year is ahead and that means a change in clothes, hair and even makeup. I dont know why i do this and i am not even going back to school, i guess that is because i am used to it from my high school years.
Back to school for the kiddos means back to work for me. That means all the crew dresses the same. Sometimes in the official uniform , sometimes we have the same t-shirt and jeans, best of all once a week we have our choice of tshirt to wear. No fingernails to speak of, no polish and no jewelry (except my belly ring, I feel if that was to fall off and get in the food something was definetly wrong to begin with). It means hairnets, try styling your hair and then putting one of those things on. That all said I really love my job. My schedule works with my kids schedule.
It means getting up early, I am really kind of a night owl and hate getting up early.
I was watching the telly the other day and saw a number of back to school commercials featuring products for the entire family. So it got me thinking...
Do you consider back-to-school a time not only to get your kids ready, but to make a shift in your own habits of dress and make-up? And if so, what do you do differently to welcome the change of season?
