Me, too, Toni. Both for Climate and color my favorites are spring and fall. I like a not oppressive warmth, with a light breeze.

I am one of the whiners in the heat, I get nauseas from the humidity. I love the cool crisp air of fall. August is supposed to be the hottest month of the year for us, I really can't complain this year, it's been great. I have been doing a bit of whining about the thunderstorms though, they come outta nowhere.

Petunia - evening definitely is the best time to go out!

And I am definitely looking forward to October. September in Florida isn't much of a respite from the heat - it's just barely winding down here then.

I dress as cool as I can. Put my hair up and hide out during the day. I like to go out at night when it is cool and enjoy the evening. I am looking forward to September.

The temps here are well over 100 degrees and the heat index even higher.  We are under a heat advisory.  We actually are trying to move and we made three loads yesterday and it was awful.  I am going to start early today and outside it is already bad enough that it is hard to breathe and it is not even 8:00 yet.

School starts back for us next Thursday. The poor kids will be roasting on the bus coming home from school. Right now to stay cool we are either inside or in the pool. Just too hot to play out in the yard when it is 97+ degrees out. I am glad we are getting closer to fall.

I try to spend as much time at the beach as I can, enjoying the water and the wind. I do bring along plenty of sunblock, hats and umbrellas for shade, and a small cooler full of water and other drinks, but it's a great way of passing the time and I can study while I'm at!

The easiest is to stay close to a large water source.  Yesterday a water main broke and flooded the streets, a lot of the kids were haveing a blast.

Sleeping is another great option, getting  enough sleep is good for you.

hey I am trying not to grumble a long with all the kids, because when they go back to school I go back to work.  We have about 2 weeks left.

Can you believe it's almost August?

You know what that means - summer is starting to wind down, kids are groaning about going back to school and the adults are eagerly anticipating the cooler temperatures.

What do you do to survive the long, hot days and still look your best?
