I received a copy of a popular magazine I subscribe to and had no idea who the "cover girl" was. So I got to wondering, do women really buy magazines for the articles, or because of the person on the cover? I realized that this magazine must be catering to a certain age group, to which I am not a part, although I like the magazine's fashion and beauty content.
I know magazines put a lot of time and effort into their covers, but I don't think it's mattered to me for quite some time. In fact, I have to admit, I rarely read the article about the "cover girl" unless the person is of interest to me (i.e. Sarah Jessica Parker comes to mind).
If you came upon a magazine stand and your favorite star was on the cover but the articles were not of interest to you, and then noticed a magazine with an everyday woman with articles of great interest to you - which one would you choose? Just curious.
