I was watching a YouTube Video and someone said that women who cake on makeup or even wear makeup have low self-esteem or don't have any confidence in themselves. In a sense that is stereotyping people. For me personally I don't mind going outside without makeup and there are some days I don't even go with makeup. So my question to everyone is "Why do you wear makeup?"

Thanks. I personally don't feel like the makeup lifts my self-esteem. I do feel like I am presenting my best, too.
I have days that I don't wear makeup, days that I only wear a small amount and days I go for the whole works. It really depends on the mood I am in.
I don't know if wearing a lot of makeup has to do with self esteem with everyone, I think some people just have always done it that way and always will. I think it is based more on personality than anything.
I have been told by people that know me well that I seem happier and more outgoing when my makeup and hair are all nice. I have to agree. but I think it is because I feel my best because I know I look my best.
I have also dealt with people in business settings and one thing I have learned is that I am treated totally different when I have makeup on than when I don't.
