The Invisible Woman
Jul 2, 2008
I have never had a claim to beauty and fame, but since we have been discussing age and larger sizes it has caused me to wonder when I actually became invisible. Was it when I had my two younger children and they consumed all my time to the point I didn't notice invisability or was it when I turned 40 and became societies idea of middle aged? I am not ready to be put out to pasture just yet. I love that commercial that says "I am not going to grow old gracefully. I am going to fight it every step of the way". That just decribes my personality to a T. To quote my favorite singer "What the heck happened" (edited for content). Unless a company is marketing an ageing product, women over 40 just seems to fall off the face of the earth. Check all those emails you get from companies that are trying to sell you cosmetics and/or clothes. None of them are geared toward older women, because to them you are invisable, you don't have what it takes anymore to sell their products, but they are sure encouraging you to still buy what they are selling.
